HISTORY - Freelance copywriter, journalist in California

HIGHLIGHTS:

A senior copywriter and corporate communications specialist, a publisher, and journalist with articles appearing in a variety of publications.

Professional highlights include extensive campaign to promote business tourism on behalf of the World Trade Centers Association that included travel to Europe, North America, Japan, and Korea and creation of a business tourism services network in 85 cities (mainly the US, Europe, and Korea. I recently produced (wrote, directed, and edited) a half-hour infomercial and two television commercials and re-organized the communications department for a local healthcare services company. I also helped launch OCMediaplex, the largest independent television news studio in Orange County (now Post Modern Group Broadcasting Studios). While working with OCMediaplex I produced a 1-hour live television show for KOCE (simulcast over ch50 and the Internet) as a showcase of our services. A publisher based in Hong Kong contracted me to ghost write a series of science workbooks for middle-school-aged children. I also 'ghosted' (planned, researched, and co-wrote) series of strategic management manuals for a prominent management firm based in Irvine, CA. I also increased web traffic by 25% for the Judicial Council of California’s self-help legal website (California courts system). I have also worked for non-profit organizations in raising awareness and financial support for NETDAY96, Project Tomorrow, Homework House, and the Newport Beach Film Festival. President/CEO. Specialized in writing, editing, and publishing monthly and semi-monthly newsletters (published up to four newsletters per month). Also published catalogs and other multi-page ‘book format’ marketing materials. Researched, wrote and published “The Art of Jack Kirby,” promoted and sold 10,000 copies in 16 months. Wrote two stories for Star Trek, a non-fiction book “Companion to Rare Coin Collecting,” and a fiction manuscript “Tales from the American Civil War.” Partial client list includes Alcon Surgical, American Lock and Supply, Safeguard Business Systems, MicroRent, Mitsuba Electronics, and MailBoxes Etc. The corporation was dissolved after the death of a partner.

President/CEO. Agency specialized in marketing computer hardware/software, individual healthcare practices, and financial services. The company evolved into "Blue Rose Press, Inc." on September 1988.

Marketing Manager. Company designed turnkey computer systems for healthcare offices. It was one of the first companies in the country that designed and sold turn-key vertical market application software for the IBM PC.
